This natural wonder can also help break up excess sebum that can build up and clog your pores. You can use raw honey in a variety of beneficial ways and what better way than to uplift your skin care routine? You can use honey in scrubs, face washes, and natural DIY masks. Check out ours below!
1. The Homey Mask
3 tablespoons oatmeal
1 tablespoon raw organic honey
1 tablespoon whole milk.
Cozy up with this all-natural soothing mask that combines honey with oatmeal and milk and works to hydrate and refresh your skin.
When gently massaged into your skin, the honey can stimulate tissue regeneration and reduce the appearance of scars. The texture of the oatmeal helps exfoliate your skin and remove any pesky pollutants that could be clinging to your skin. Oatmeal also contains a large amount of amino acids which also help heal damaged skin. The lactic acid within the milk also will purify your skin, removing dead skin cells and overall brightening your complexion.
2. The Zesty Mask
1 teaspoon lemon juice
1 tablespoon honey
1 tablespoon yogurt
1/4 teaspoon turmeric powder
If you're dealing with dark spots, and patches of discoloration, this tasty combination will help reduce dark spots, and scars and even out your complexion. With the use of the spice tumeric, in combination with lemon, honey, and yogurt, it results in a mild bleaching effect that completely brightens your complexion. It also helps in removing dead skin cells and encourage the growth of new ones. You can simply use this as spot treatment or apply a full mask 2 to 3 times a week.
3. The Mashed Mask
1 teaspoon mashed avocado
1 teaspoon plain whole milk yogurt
1 teaspoon raw honey
This rich and delicious mask is perfect for combination skin types and dry skin. The fats in the avocado and whole milk yogurt moisturize completely while the lactic acids smooths skin, regenerates collagen, and refines pores. These ingredients also make it so it's rich in essential vitamins such as vitamin D, vitamin A, vitamin E, and also contains calcium and zinc. This is a great mix for those with sensitive skin too, it's a light and gentle mask that you can use multiple times a week.
4. The Chamomile Medley Mask
1 cup chamomile tea with 2 tea bags
1 tablespoon raw honey
1 teaspoon nutritional yeast
What is nutritional yeast you may ask? Excellent for treating acne, especially when paired with honey, nutritional yeast is rich in B-vitamins too which is helpful in calming skin, especially during times when you normally break out. As previously mentioned, raw honey is hugely beneficial for acne and serves as a natural antibacterial. Stir together the honey and yeast into a small bowl and add just enough of the chamomile tea to form a thick paste to apply to your face. Apply a thin layer and let sit for 20 minutes before cleaning off with warm water.
